Your initial consultation is $49 and includes the examination, X-rays and an adjustment if clinically indicated, and the planning session where we go through what we found.

Questions people ask before they book
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly. If your GP has given you a Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP, formerly CDM or EPC), bring it along — see our GP care plans page for how the Medicare rebate works.
What happens at the first visit?
Allow 30 to 45 minutes. We go through your history and what you want to get back to, then assess posture, movement, joints, muscles and nerves, with hands-on examination of your spine. If it is clinically indicated we take X-rays on site. If it is appropriate, Dr Richard Sawyer (Chiropractor) will adjust you at this visit. Visit two, the planning session, is where we go through the findings and a plan. The $49 fee covers the first visit, X-rays and an adjustment if clinically indicated, and the planning session; any treatment on the planning-session day is billed separately.
Is chiropractic covered by private health insurance?
Chiropractic consultations are claimable with most health funds’ extras cover; the amount depends on your fund and level of cover. We don’t claim on site. A statement is emailed to you each month so you can claim online or through your fund’s app.
Do you see children and pregnant patients?
Yes, for musculoskeletal concerns such as pregnancy-related back pain. Care is adapted to the person in front of us.
Are there side effects?
Like all treatments, chiropractic care can have side effects. The common ones are mild and short-lived, such as soreness after an adjustment. We discuss this with you before care starts, and you can ask anything at any time.
What’s the popping sound?
The same thing that happens when you crack your knuckles: gas releasing from the fluid in a joint. It isn’t bones rubbing, and whether or not there’s a sound tells you nothing about the adjustment.
